Annual Horseshoe Crab Run/Walk
The 2nd Annual Horseshoe Crab Run/Walk is a 5K event in Franklin, Maine, held on July 19, 2026. The route begins at the Franklin Town Office and follows a coastal course through Downeast Maine. The first mile is gently downhill along Route 200 before the course turns left onto Cards Crossing, where participants encounter the largest hill of the route. At the crest, runners and walkers can see sweeping views of the ocean to the left. The course then returns downhill and continues onto the Sunrise Trail toward the finish.
Registration opens on May 6, 2026 and closes on July 12, 2026. The registration fee is $30. Race bib pickup is scheduled on Friday, July 18 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and on race day from 7:00 to 7:45 AM. A hot breakfast is offered after the race for $10, with a $5 discount for registered runners.
