Hopwood Trot

The Hopwood Trot is a multi-terrain running event on the paths, tracks and country lanes surrounding historic Hopwood Hall on the outskirts of Middleton in Greater Manchester. The course is approximately five and a half miles (8.8 km) and is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Registration (number and chip) collection is based in the sports hall of Hopwood College Sports Pavilion, with the race starting on the adjoining sports field before joining the course proper. The event location is Hopwood College Sports Pavilion, Rochdale Road, M24 6XH. The event is organised by Middleton Harriers.

The event is scheduled for 5 August 2026. Entries are managed through SiEntries. Entries open on 30 December 2025 and close on 3 August 2026. The minimum age to enter is 16 or older. There is an entry limit of 200 participants. Entry fees listed are £12.00 for UKA members and £14.00 for non members. At the time of publishing there are 12 participants entered.

Prizes are awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers, to the first in each age category, and there are team prizes for male and female teams.
