Hopwood Trot
The Hopwood Trot is a multi-terrain running event covering approximately 5.5 miles (8.8 km) on paths, tracks and country lanes around historic Hopwood Hall on the outskirts of Middleton in Greater Manchester. The course uses estate paths and local lanes and is described as not suitable for wheelchairs.
Registration items such as race numbers and timing chips are collected from the Sports Hall at the college, and the race starts on the adjoining sports field before joining the main course. Entry is administered through SiEntries and there is an entry limit of 200 participants. The minimum age for entry is 16 on the event date.
There are prizes for the first three male and female finishers, prizes for first in age categories, and team prizes for male and female teams. Entry fees are listed as £12 for UKA members and £14 for non members. Entries open on 30 December 2025 and close on 3 August 2026.
The event is organised by Middleton Harriers and is scheduled as an in person race at the Hopwood College sports pavilion and surrounding grounds in Greater Manchester. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
