Hops for Hope 5K and BrewFest
Hops for Hope combines a certified and professionally timed 5K with a postrace BrewFest at Mount Saint Mary Park in St. Charles. The 5K route follows the river path toward Geneva through Wheeler Park and returns to Mount Saint Mary Park. Along the course, Beer Stops offer local craft brewery samples of about 3 ounces each.
The event includes a BrewFest celebration at the finish area. Registration for the BrewFest includes 18 beer samples, live music, food vendors, a raffle called the Mountain of Beer, and an Adaptive Bike Giveaway presentation. Proceeds support Project Mobility, which provides adaptive cycling opportunities for children, adults, and wounded service members with disabilities. Over the past nine years the event has helped donate nearly $80,000 in adaptive bicycles.
Registration options listed by the organizer include a 5K and BrewFest combo, a BrewFest only option without the race, and a designated driver BrewFest option without beer.
