Event Overview
The Hope Starts Here 5K is a running event located in Jacksonville, Florida. The event takes place in the Springfield area and utilizes the Emerald Trail for its route. The start and finish lines are situated at Operation New Hope, located in a historic building on North Main Street. Both a standard distance and a shorter option are available for participants:
- 5 km
- 1 mile Fun Run
The course is an out and back route that runs along the Emerald Trail S-line. Participants receive event shirts, and all finishers in both the 5 km and 1 mile categories are presented with custom designed medals at the finish line.
Awards and Recognition
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as the first place masters male and female. Additionally, plaques are awarded to the top three finishers in various age categories, ranging from 10 and under to 80 and over.
Logistics
Packet pickup is organized at local running stores on the day prior to the event, with race day pickup available at the event site for any unclaimed packets. Parking is provided at Operation New Hope and the nearby Wells Fargo. Proceeds from the event support Operation New Hope, an organization providing workforce training, mental health services, and job placement for individuals with a criminal history.
