Hope Starts Here 5K - Jacksonville
The Hope Starts Here 5K is a running event that takes participants along a route through the Emerald Trail, which is described as steeped in Jacksonville history. The race starts and finishes on Main Street at Operation New Hope, which is housed in one of Springfield's iconic buildings. The course runs out and back along the Emerald Trail S-line.
The event features two distances:
- A 5K run
- A 1 Mile Fun Run
All participants receive an event t-shirt. Custom designed finisher medals are presented to all finishers of both the 1 Mile and 5K distances. Awards are also given to the top three overall men and women, the first place masters male and female, and the top three in various age groups.
The proceeds from the event benefit Operation New Hope. Funds are used to provide workforce training, mental health services, and job placement for people affected by the criminal justice system.
Packet pickup is available at 1st Place Sports store locations prior to the event, with remaining packets available at the race site. Parking is available at Operation New Hope and Wells Fargo. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
