Hope Starts Here 5K
The Hope Starts Here 5K is an annual event held at Klyde Warren Park in Dallas. This gathering serves as an opportunity to recognize organ donor heroes and celebrate life through physical activity and community engagement. The event features several participation options:
- 5K (IN-PERSON): Includes a timed chipped bib and a race t-shirt.
- FUN RUN (IN-PERSON): Includes a race t-shirt.
- 5K (VIRTUAL): Allows participants to complete the distance at any location.
The in-person course is located on the East Lawn of the park. Participants in the 5K category receive timing services, and awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the first-place youth finisher aged 12 and under.
A central feature of the event is the Wall of Hope, where attendees can display framed photos to honor loved ones. A video tribute station is also available for participants to share personal stories. Following the run, the venue hosts various activities including a dedicated area for children with face painting, and complimentary refreshments such as tacos and snow cones.
