Fun Bun Run - 5K Run/Walk for Education
The Fun Bun Run is a spring charity event organized by Hope for Haitians. It takes place on May 9, 2026 in Geneva, Illinois, at the Kane County Government Center, 719 S Batavia Ave. The event is the 15th annual Fun Bun Run and offers both an on-site race and a virtual option for remote participants. The course is USATF certified (IL-210005-WR).
The race format is a 5K Run/Walk. Registration fee tiers are listed as early, standard, and race day rates. Early registration by April 9 includes a guaranteed race T-shirt; standard registration follows and T-shirts are available while supplies last; race day registration is a higher fee. Youth 16 and under may register free.
Funds raised support education programs in rural north Haiti. Current fundraising efforts aim to send 200 children to school. Contributions pay for school fees, books, materials, uniforms, transportation, meal programs, tuition aid, and vocational training support. The event description notes literacy and school access challenges in Haiti, including a reported literacy rate for those over 15 and a proportion of children out of school. A volunteer team and an experienced race director are associated with event planning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
