Event Details
The Hope Fest 5K Walk/Run & Kids Fun Run is a fundraising event taking place on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The event is held rain or shine. The course is described as very flat and fast, using all asphalt or concrete surfaces. The start and finish are in the same general area, on the grounds of Community of Faith Church in Marion, Illinois.

Course and Awards
The 5k course is an out-and-back route on paved surfaces. Awards are given to the top three male and female runners in each ten-year age group, from 9 & under to 60 & over. The top three male and female walkers also receive awards. For the Kids Fun Run, special awards are given to the top three finishers, and every child who finishes receives a finisher's award.
Registration and Logistics
Registration on the event day opens at 9:00 AM. A pre-event gathering and briefing is held at 9:55 AM. Packet pick-up is available on-site from 9:00 AM until 9:55 AM on the day of the race. Registration fees include a Hope Fest 5K T-shirt (guaranteed for pre-registrations by a specified deadline, otherwise as supplies last) and a free race day wristband for admission to the Hope Fest after the race.
Charitable Cause
All proceeds from the event benefit the Herrin House of Hope & Hands of Hope Foundation. The funds support various operations including meal programs, a thrift store, a food distribution center, a children's summer feeding program, job training, and a GED program.
