Event Overview

The Hope Fest 5K Walk/Run is a community event on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The event takes place on the grounds of the Community of Faith Church in Marion, Illinois. It happens rain or shine.

Distances

The event offers three distances:

  • 5K run
  • 5K walk
  • ½ mile kids fun run for participants ages 10 and under.

Course and Location

The course is described as very flat and fast, using all asphalt or concrete surfaces. The race starts and finishes in the same general area near the airport, at the intersection of Route 13 and Route 148.

Registration and Fees

Registration opens on-site. The fees are $25 for the 5K events and $15 for the kids fun run. The 5K fee includes a T-shirt and a free wristband for admission to the Hope Fest event after the race. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who pre-register by a specific deadline; on-site registrants receive them while supplies last.

Awards

Awards are given for multiple categories. Top three runners and walkers receive awards, with additional awards for runners in various 10-year age groups. The top three finishers in the kids fun run get special awards, and every child who finishes receives a finisher’s award.

Beneficiary

All proceeds from the event benefit the Herrin House of Hope & Hands of Hope Foundation. The funds support several local operations, including meal programs, a thrift store, a food distribution center, and children's summer feeding and educational programs.
