H.O.P.E. 5K and Fun Run
The H.O.P.E. 5K and Fun Run takes place at Veterans Park in Alabaster, Alabama. This athletic event is organized by H.O.P.E. - "You're Not In It Alone," a nonprofit organization that provides advocacy, education, and resources to women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The event serves as a platform to raise awareness and support for those impacted by these issues.
Participants can choose between two distinct track options:
- 5K: A live chip-timed race.
- 1-Mile Fun Run: A shorter distance intended for various participants.
The 5K competition includes an awards ceremony where recognition is given to the fastest male runner, the fastest female runner, and the participant recognized as the most spirited. Registration for both distances is open to the public, and entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event of a cancellation due to extreme circumstances, fees are treated as donations to Crisis Center, Inc.
The event is held outdoors and proceeds regardless of weather conditions, including rain, heat, or cold. Pre-race packet pickup is available at the park location during the two days preceding the race, as well as on the morning of the event itself. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
