Hop, Skip & Splash 5K Fun Run/Walk
The Hop, Skip & Splash 5K Fun Run/Walk is the fourth annual beachside fundraiser held in Huntington Beach on October 25, 2026. The event supports swim lessons and water safety education for children in Orange County and beyond. Organizers report that the prior year welcomed 200 participants and raised $30,000.
The event offers an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K option. Standard in-person registration fee is $50. Discounted in-person registration of $40 is available for first responders, healthcare workers, educators, and for currently enrolled students. Virtual registration is listed at $50. In-person registration opens May 1, 2026 and closes October 1, 2026; virtual registration remains open through October 26, 2026. In-person registrants receive an event T-shirt; registering by October 4 guarantees T-shirt size. Virtual registrants who register by October 11 may receive a shirt before the event weekend.
Course and event details note a scenic coastal course with ocean views, a stroller-friendly route, and that dogs are welcome on the boardwalk but not on the sand. The run is not timed, though prizes are awarded for first through third place. Post-race activities include a pancake breakfast provided by Huntington Beach Firefighters, live music from a local lifeguard band, children's activities, raffles, and a vendor village. Team entries of two or more receive a $10 team discount; the first team member to register is reimbursed once another member joins.
