Hop, Skip & Splash 5K Fun Run/Walk
Hop, Skip & Splash is a beachside 5K event held on October 25, 2026, at 21503 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach, CA. The event is the fourth annual edition and serves as a fundraiser to support swim lessons and water safety education for children in Orange County and beyond. The prior year welcomed 200 participants and raised $30,000 to expand access to lessons.
Registration categories and fees are published for in-person and virtual options. General registration for the in-person 5K is listed at $50, with discounted registration of $40 for first responders, health care workers, teachers, and for currently enrolled students with valid student status. A Virtual 5K option allows participants to complete the distance on the weekend of October 24–25 and includes an optional event T-shirt with shipping. Registration opens May 1; in-person categories close October 1 and the virtual option remains open through October 26. Registrants who register by October 4 are eligible to guarantee T-shirt sizing.
The course departs from a beach parking lot at Pacific Coast Highway and Huntington Street and is described as scenic and stroller friendly. Dogs are permitted on the boardwalk but not on the sand. The event is not a timed race but offers prizes for first through third place. Post-race activities include a pancake breakfast provided by Huntington Beach Firefighters, live music from Crew-52, kids activities, raffles, and a vendor village. The event is presented by the Jasper Ray Foundation in partnership with the Orange County Drowning Prevention Coalition. On-site parking is available in the adjacent city lot with posted fees.
