Hop Forward Aquathlon
The Hop Forward Aquathlon is the second annual swim-run event presented by French Creek Racing. It is held at Lawrence Park Swim Club, a 25 meter outdoor pool in Broomall, Pennsylvania. The pool water is typically heated to 82F and the event proceeds rain or shine.
Event formats and distances:
- Aquathlon: 300 m swim, 5 km run, 300 m swim
- Aquathlon Relay: 300 m swim, 5 km run, 300 m swim; 2 to 3 person relay
Each serpentine swim starts from the water slide in the diving well. Swimmers are seeded fastest to slowest and the race is live timed, with transitions timed and included in overall finish times. Organizers expect under 50 registrations and plan spacing of roughly 10 to 15 seconds between individual swimmers.
Registration opens 1/24/2027 and closes 2/5/2027. Entry fees are $35 for the individual aquathlon and $60 for the relay. No refunds are issued and bib transfers to non-registered people are not permitted. A registered athlete may request a deferral to next year or a transfer to another French Creek Racing event if done at least 14 days before the event; a nominal fee applies.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall and within 10 year age groups. Entrants receive a choice of winter socks or a Frozen Hare t-shirt if the entry is received by 2/14, plus a custom French Creek Racing award based on finish place.
