Honoring The Legacy Memorial Day 5K
The Honoring The Legacy Memorial Day 5K is a run/walk event held to honor those who have given their lives in defense of the country. The event supports Trail Life and American Heritage Girl Troops IL-0078 in the Belleville area and promotes patriotism, good citizenship, and a love for the military through their programs.
The event takes place on May 25, 2026, at Laderman Park in Belleville, Illinois. The course begins and ends at Laderman Park, runs through downtown Belleville, and returns to the park. Online registration is open through race day. Registration fees are $30 if received no later than May 5 and $35 from May 6 through race day. A T-shirt is guaranteed for registrations paid by May 5. Checks may be made out to TrailLife Troop IL-0078 and mailed to Honoring The Legacy 5K, 225 S. Pennsylvania Ave, Belleville IL 62220.
Packet pickup is available on May 23 at Toolen's Running Start, 3220 Green Mount Crossing Dr, O'Fallon, IL 62269, and on race day at Laderman Park. Parking is available in Laderman Park; exiting the park will not be available until after all runners and walkers have completed the race.
Awards include custom medals for the top three male and female finishers in each age category (14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+) and custom awards for the top three male and female Overall and Masters Division finishers. Bibs are provided in the packet and attached to the shirt. The event notes basic items to bring such as comfortable running attire, proper footwear, a water bottle, and a towel.
