Event Overview
This is the fourth annual #HonorConnor event, a fundraiser held in memory of a 12-year-old who loved the outdoors and being pushed in his wheelchair on runs. All proceeds benefit the Connor James Smith grant, which supports families affected by SCN8A by funding needs for children with special needs, equipment, and therapies.
Event Details
The in-person event takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 9220 John Tyler Memorial Highway in Charles City, Virginia. The courses are out-and-back routes on the Capital Trail, starting from Indian Fields Tavern. Water stations are available at the turn-around points on the course.
Several race distances are offered:
- Half Marathon (2 loops of 3.25 miles)
- 3/4 Marathon
- Quarter Marathon (1 loop of 3.25 miles)
- 5k (1.55 miles out and back)
Virtual options are available for the Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon, and 5k. Virtual participants have a 7-day window to complete their chosen distance.
Participant Benefits
In-person race entry includes an official race time and a finisher's medal. A post-race beer is also offered on event day. All participants, including virtual runners, receive a finisher's medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
