The event on May 23, 2027, offers timed road races on a family-friendly, paved course at Dorey Park in Henrico, Virginia. The route is described as fairly flat and runs mostly through the park; the 10 km follows an out-and-back twice. Walkers and stroller users are welcome. A virtual race option is also available.
Distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt, and chip timing. Three water stations are positioned along the 10 km course at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65; the 5 km course has one water station near mile 1.55. Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms are located within the park.
Points from these races count toward the organizer’s Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, as well as the Spring Series. The Back of the Pack time listed is 11:00 min per mile; the series is intended to group runners of similar paces for series points.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to top finishers in age categories from 19 and under through 70 and over. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered; t-shirt guarantees apply to early registrants. Proceeds benefit Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity.
