Honor the Flame

Honor the Flame is a community 5K Family Fun Walk/Run held at Highbanks Metro Park, 9466 Columbus Pike, Columbus, OH 43035. The event focuses on fire safety education and the life saving importance of functioning smoke detectors in every home.

All proceeds benefit the Delaware County American Red Cross Tragic Loss Program and the Delaware County Tri-County Fire Department. Funds raised support programs that provide free smoke detectors to families in need, and aim to reduce preventable fire incidents through early detection.

The event also honors the memory of a local person who died in a house fire where no working smoke detector alerted occupants. That circumstance is presented to highlight how early detection can change outcomes and to inform the community about practical prevention measures.

Participant information notes a registration fee of $35 and that race registrations are non refundable and non transferable. The event lists overall awards and any age group awards.
