The 44th Annual Honeywagon Runs
The Honeywagon Runs is a long-standing country running event that originated in 1982. The event takes its name from the wagons used to spread cow manure on the fields surrounding the course. Based in Everson, Washington, the event features routes that begin and end at the Nooksack Valley Middle School parking lot. The entire event is held outdoors.
Participants travel along flat, scenic country roads. These roads remain open to public traffic during the event. For those in the longer distances, aid stations are positioned approximately every 2 miles, while the shorter course does not feature aid stations.
Available distances and categories include:
- Half Marathon
- 4 Mile Run
- Kids Fun Run (8 and under)
The Kids Fun Run is organized by Bell Creek Nature School and takes place in the field behind the middle school. All participants in the kids' event receive finisher prizes. For adult participants, a drop bag area is provided near the start and finish lines for storing extra clothing.
The event offers several award categories. Prize money is awarded to first-place finishers in the Half Marathon and 4 Mile Run across women, men, and non-binary categories. Prizes are also given to second-place overall finishers. Additionally, placement ribbons are awarded to the top four finishers in age groups ranging from 10 and under up to 85-89.
