Hometown Heroes 5k - Wilmington
Delaware Technical Community College’s Stanton and Wilmington campuses will host the Hometown Heroes community run and walk at the clock tower in Rockford Park, Lookout Dr., Wilmington, DE on September 17, 2026. The event is free; race t-shirts are available for purchase for $15 and will be distributed at Rockford Park on race day. Amenities listed for the event include food, music, and games.

The program includes a kids fun run and an awards presentation after the event. Awards are given for overall first place male and female and for the top three finishers in each age group. Age group categories include 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus. Dogs and strollers are not permitted on the race course.
Delaware Tech notes that its graduates and trainees work in essential fields such as paramedics, nursing, small business, and information technology; the event also supports student scholarships through donations.
