Home Stretch 5K for Homeless and At-Risk Vets
The Home Stretch 5K for Homeless and At-Risk Vets takes place on 11/08/2026 at Eau Gallie Square, 1452 Highland Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32935. The event benefits National Veterans Homeless Support (NVHS), whose mission is to eliminate homelessness among veterans in Central Florida.
NVHS provides street level outreach, homelessness prevention, and supportive services for homeless, at-risk, and low-income veterans and their families since 2008. Proceeds from the event support those programs.
The event is organized as a 5K running race with multiple registration categories and fees: a general entry fee of $30.00, a team entry fee of $25.00, and an active military and veteran entry fee of $25.00. Registration opens 2/25/2026 at 09:00 and closes 11/7/2026 at 23:59.
Participant amenities listed by the organizer include a race shirt for the first 500 registrants, finisher medals for the first 500 registrants, placement medals, raffles, and beer for participants age 21 and over provided by Grills Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar. Music will be provided by a DJ.
Early packet pickup and registration are available at Running Zone, 3696 North Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL on Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7 during posted hours. Race day will include on-site packet pickup and late registration at Eau Gallie Square. Awards are planned for overall top finishers, masters, team categories, limb impaired veteran categories, and age group top three finishers across age brackets from 8 and under through 80 and over.
