Annual Home of the Brave 5K in Sturbridge
The Annual Home of the Brave 5K Walk or Run is a fundraising event presented by the Sturbridge Special Events Committee on November 7, 2026, at 278 Main St., Sturbridge, MA. Proceeds from the event support Sturbridge Veterans.
The event program includes a general 5K walk or run for fun and separate 5K entries organized by military branch, including Marine Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard. Registration for the main event opens January 29, 2026; military entries open August 17, 2026. All registrations close October 27, 2026. Listed fees include in person registration at $25 and day of registration at $40, with military entry fees at $10 and a military day of fee at $20. Free T shirts and finisher ribbons are available while supplies last.
On race day there is packet pickup and day of registration, and parking is within a short walk of the Sturbridge Town Common. A course map is published for the event. All participants are entered in citizen raffles with name draws after the medal awards, and there are special raffles tied to military participation.
Awards recognize the fastest overall female and male finishers, the fastest military female and male finishers, and the fastest female and male in each age division. Volunteer roles are part of the event structure and volunteers may run for free. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
