Holymoorside 10k
The annual Holymoorside 10k Road Race and 2k Fun Run will take place on 10 May 2026 in the Derbyshire village of Holymoorside, with the Village Hall on Holymoor Road as the event base. The events are organised by the 1st Holymoorside Scout Group, a registered charity (no. 1136758).
Event distances:
- 10 km road race through country lanes and moorland
- 2 km Fun Run around the village playing fields, entry on the day only
The 10k course runs on the road, includes an initial uphill section of about 4 km, then crosses the moor and returns to the village for a downhill finish and a lap of the playing fields. The race is accurately measured and is held under UKA rules. First aid cover, drinks stations and marshals are provided in line with UKA guidelines. Limited changing facilities are available. Free parking is provided in a designated field a 5–10 minute walk from the start; participants are asked to avoid parking on the road and to car share where possible.
Prizes are awarded to category winners; presentation of trophies will take place outside the Village Hall or, if necessary, prizes will be posted the following week. Subject to availability, a Holymoorside 10k 2026 notepad and pen can be collected near the finish line. Scouts will provide refreshments, cakes and bacon butties for runners and spectators.
Entry information recorded for this edition included entries open from 8 December 2025 to 3 May 2026, a minimum age of 15 for the 10k, entry fees of £20 for UKA members and £22 for non-members, and 211 participants entered so far. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
