Event overview

The Holymoorside 10k takes place on Sunday 10 May 2026 in the village of Holymoorside, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The event is organised by the 1st Holymoorside Scout Group, a registered charity (no. 1136758), as part of their fundraising activities. Two distances are offered:

  • 10 km
  • 2 km

The 10 km race is a road race that is accurately measured and held under UKA rules. The course starts at the Village Hall, runs uphill for about 4 km, crosses the moor, then descends back into the village with a lap of the village playing fields at the finish. The 2 km fun run is a route around the village playing fields. The fun run accepts entries on the day and all participants receive a medal.

Logistics and entries

First aid cover, drinks stations, and marshals are provided in line with UKA guidelines. There are limited changing facilities. Free parking is available in a designated field a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Village Hall; organisers ask that people avoid parking on the road. Scouts will provide refreshments, cakes and bacon butties. Prizes will be awarded to category winners and trophies will be presented outside the Village Hall; prizes may be posted if necessary. Entry details: entries open 8 December 2025 and close 3 May 2026. Minimum age for the 10 km is 15. Entry fees listed are £20 for UKA members and £22 for non-members.
