Holy Redeemer Cardinal 5K and Half-Mile Fun Run
The Holy Redeemer Cardinal 5K is a community running event held every other spring in Kensington, Maryland. The race starts and finishes at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church parking lot. The course offers a scenic route through Rock Creek Park and the Rock Creek Highlands neighborhood. Participants in the 5K will encounter a specific section known as "The Hill" on Cedar Lane before the course returns to the local neighborhood.
The event features two primary distances:

- Half-Mile
The Half-Mile Fun Run is designed for young racers and can be completed as a run or a walk. Every child participating in this distance receives a medal upon completion. After the conclusion of the races, a post-race party is held in the church parking lot featuring refreshments and family-oriented entertainment.
Proceeds from the event go toward supporting the Holy Redeemer Catholic School. Registration is open to the public, and the event traditionally hosts hundreds of participants of various ages.
