Holston Creek Cross Country 5K Overview
The Holston Creek Cross Country 5K is an annual run and walk event held at Holston Creek Park in Inman, South Carolina. The upcoming fourth edition of this event is scheduled for March 2026. The course takes place within the park grounds and features a specific symbolic task for participants near the conclusion of the distance.
During the final quarter mile of the race, participants in the 5K carry a four foot length of 2x4 lumber across their backs. Upon reaching the finish line, runners and walkers place the lumber at the foot of a cross. This unique requirement is designed to offer both a physical and spiritual element to the competition.
The event proceeds are dedicated to supporting youth missions at Holston Creek Baptist Church. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female runners in a wide range of age categories, ranging from nine and under to eighty and above.
