Holme Howler 2026
The Holme Howler is a 10 km adventure run and obstacle course taking place in Holme village on the edge of the Lake District on Saturday 11 July 2026. It is held as part of the village Festival of Sport weekend and features an undulating, multi-terrain route that uses roads, fields and canal paths.
The course includes a variety of obstacles such as cargo nets, walls, monkey bars and a water slide. A shorter event, the Half Howler, covers 5 km and is open to participants aged 12 years and up. There is also a Mini Howler fun run for younger participants.
The weekend includes family activities around the event site including a village fete with stalls and food, a 5 a side football tournament, and an after party at The Smithy Inn. The Festival of Sport continues on Sunday at Holme Cricket Club with a barbecue and classic sports day style competitions.
Entry is limited to 288 places. Entries close on 10 July 2026 and transfers close on 7 July 2026. Entry fees listed for the event include a single entry at £30, a 5 km entry at £20 and a junior 5 km entry at £15.
