Event overview
The Holme Howler takes place on Saturday 11 July 2026 in Holme village on the edge of the Lake District. The main race is 10K on an undulating, multi-terrain course that includes roads, fields and canal paths. The route includes a series of obstacles such as cargo nets, walls, monkey bars and a water slide. The event will feature a new theme for 2026; specific theme details are to be revealed.

Maximum entries are 288 and the minimum age is 16 years. Entries close on 10 July 2026. A single entry fee is listed at £25.00, with an early bird period that ends on 14 February 2026. Transfers close on 07 July 2026. A promotion offers the third entry at half price when registering three people together.
The event is part of the village Festival of Sport weekend. Additional activities include a Mini Howler fun run for younger participants, a village fete with stalls and food, a 5-a-side football tournament and an after-party at The Smithy Inn in Holme.
