Holme Howler 2026
The Holme Howler is a 10 km adventure run held in Holme village on the edge of the Lake District as part of the village Festival of Sport weekend on Saturday 11 July 2026. The course is described as undulating and multi terrain, using roads, fields and canal paths and featuring a series of on-course obstacles such as cargo nets, walls, monkey bars and a water slide.
Entry is open to participants aged 16 years and over. Maximum entry is 288 competitors; entries remaining were listed as 285 and entries close on 10 July 2026. Transfers close earlier on 07 July 2026. The standard single entry fee is £25.00 with an early bird period ending 14 February 2026. A group offer applies when three entries are made together: the third entry is half price with voucher code 1DXYLTFV48.
The event weekend includes additional activities aimed at families and spectators. There is a Mini Howler fun run for younger participants, a village fete with stalls and food, a 5 a side football tournament and an after party at The Smithy Inn in Holme. The Festival of Sport continues on Sunday with a BBQ and sports day style competitions at Holme Cricket Club.
