Holly Springs Race Against the Sun
The event runs from Saturday, February 21 to Sunday, February 22, 2026 in Holly Springs, NC at Sugg Farm Park (Grigsby Avenue). It offers individual endurance options and team relays, including 24-hour and 12-hour individual events (day and night options), 24-hour 6-person relays, and 12-hour 4-person relays. Ruck divisions are available for the same event options.
The course is a trail loop of 4.167 miles with about 240 ft of elevation per loop. Only completed loops count; volunteers at the start/finish record each lap. Completing one full loop each hour is equivalent to 50 miles in 12 hours and 100 miles in 24 hours.
Rules, services and awards
Ruck participants must carry their pack every loop and pass a mandatory gear check. Weight requirements are 20 lb if the participant weighs under 150 lb and 30 lb if over 150 lb. The aid station at the start/finish will provide water, an electrolyte drink and general nutrition; participants may bring their own nutrition. Crew tents are allowed in designated areas; fire pits are allowed but no fires directly on the ground and crews must clean up. Portable and private trailer bathrooms are available along the course. One pacer per runner is allowed for 24-hour and 12-hour individual events. Strollers and pets are not permitted. Parking is on site at Sugg Farm Park.
Awards include a custom belt buckle for 100-mile finishers and milestone patches for 25, 50, 75, 100 miles and a 50 x 50 ruck patch. Deferrals are not permitted and there are no refunds; bib transfers and distance changes must be completed by the registration deadline and a bib transfer fee applies.
