Holland Haven Marathon
The Holland Haven Marathon is a USATF certified marathon and a Boston Marathon qualifying course. The full marathon runs along the shores of Lake Michigan, beginning in Grand Haven and finishing in downtown Holland. The event is scheduled in early September, a time noted for mild weather and presented as a final opportunity to qualify for Boston.
The half marathon begins at Camp Geneva and follows Lakeshore Drive into Holland. The half course is mostly flat and takes place on paved paths. The 8K is a flat out and back course described as an introduction to longer distances. A virtual race option is available; virtual participants receive a commemorative race medal.
Race weekend information includes packet pick up, spectator information, and volunteer opportunities. Participant feedback highlights well stocked water stops, plentiful portable toilets, visible course support from volunteers, clear communications from organizers, and sections of shaded course along the route.
