Event

The Hold the Fort races are an annual set of timed road events held at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. The program includes a timed 5K, a timed 10K, and a 1-mile Warrior Walk. Entry prices listed are $35 for the 5K, $40 for the 10K, and $30 for the 1-mile walk.

Location and details

The event uses the Dogwood Pavilion area and participants enter through the front gate of Oak Mountain State Park at 200 Terrace Dr, Pelham, AL. Early packet pick-up is held the day before the race at Full Moon BBQ in Pelham. Park admission is included with registration through a sponsor contribution from Mills Pharmacy. Cash prizes are offered for the top overall male and female in both the 10K and the 5K, and awards are given across 14 categories. The first 200 registrants receive a complimentary event t-shirt, sizes subject to availability. Proceeds for this edition are directed toward raising $250,000 to finalize construction of a Restoration Home to care for children rescued from human trafficking. Route maps are available on Strava.
