Hokey Cokey Charlestown

Hokey Cokey Charlestown is a multi-sport event held at Charlestown Harbour, within the centre of Charlestown, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The event includes running and sea swimming across a coastal area near the St Austell Bay coastline. Participants are expected to wear wetsuits for the sea swims.

Course and format

There are long and short course options. Distances and stages are:

  • Long course: approximately 13.8 km running and 5.2 km sea swimming - 11 stages.
  • Short course: approximately 7.8 km running and 2.5 km sea swimming - 7 stages.

Entries can be individual for either course. The long course also allows entry as a two-person team, with teammates racing together.

The course runs on a mix of surfaces: coastal path, sand, gravel, and tarmac. Swimming takes place in the sea around the local coastline. The event is organised by Mad Hatter Sports Events and takes place at Charlestown Harbour. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
