Hogeye Marathon
The Hogeye Marathon and Relays is a multi-race event held in Springdale, Arkansas. The event features a marathon, a half marathon, 4-person relays, a 10K run, and a 5K run/walk presented as a Sunday Fun Day. An expo and packet pickup take place at Shiloh Square in downtown Springdale the day before the main races.
The marathon course starts and finishes on Emma Avenue in Springdale’s downtown district and runs primarily on Springdale streets. The route passes the city’s five major parks, includes a portion of the Lake Fayetteville Trail, and has sections that run through Johnson and Fayetteville. A small portion of the marathon course uses the Razorback Greenway.
The Hogeye Marathon is organized by a nonprofit 501(c)(3). A portion of event proceeds supports local charitable projects; since 2008 the event has raised over $586,000 for ten charities. The relay format is designed for four-person teams, and relay finishers receive a medal. The event also lists volunteer opportunities, local meet-up training runs, and a team challenge aimed at workplace teams.
