HKYFS Pumpkin Run 5K, 2M & Kids Run
The Pumpkin Run takes place on October 25, 2026 at Haddam-Killingworth High School, 95 Little City Rd., Higganum, CT 06441. It is a community fundraising event that benefits Haddam-Killingworth Youth and Family Services.
The event includes the following distances:
- 5K run
- 2 mile walk (not timed)
- 1/4 mile kids fun run
- 1/2 mile kids fun run
- Kids fun run
Proceeds support HKYFS programs in counseling, substance abuse prevention, positive youth development, family programming, juvenile restorative justice, and social services. Funds are raised through sponsorships and runner registrations.
On-site features include warm breakfast items for purchase, community vendors, family games, crafts, and activities. A costume contest awards prizes for best adult, youth, and dog costume; dogs must be friendly and remain on leashes. Custom medals are provided for all finishers, and a free T-shirt is available to the first 300 registrants or by October 12. The 5K notes a price increase on October 20.
Registration fees listed by the organizer are $30 for the 5K and the 2 mile walk, and $20 for the kids runs.
