Event overview
The Hitchin Hard Half Marathon is held in Hitchin, with companion races the Tough 10 Miler, the Fierce 5 Miler and a Kid's Fun Run / Golden Mile. The event takes place on Sunday 7 June 2026 and starts and finishes at Hitchin Priory on Tilehouse Street, Hitchin. The half marathon is a measured out-and-back course that goes via Preston village and Offley Holes Hill through Chiltern countryside. The route is described as undulating and hilly, with the start on grass for about 200 yards before continuing on country roads. The course is fully marshalled and has five water stations and medical cover on course.

Entries are online only. Race services listed for 2025 and 2026 include a race bib with integrated timing chip, electronic timing and online results, baggage drop, medals, purchasable T-shirts, downloadable finisher certificates, toilets at Race HQ, drink stations and course safety signage. Gun times determine overall race positions; prizes are awarded to overall podium and age-group winners following UKA age-group rules. There is a three hour cut-off time for the half. Parking is available onsite and in town centre car parks. Registration fees shown on the organiser pages include entry prices for each race.
