Historic Riverfront 5K Run/Walk : Minneapolis
The Historic Riverfront 5K is a community running and walking event held on September 26, 2026, at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis on Sibley Street NE. The course is a loop along the Mississippi River that passes through Nicollet Island, crosses the Stone Arch Bridge, and returns along the river to Boom Island, offering river and city skyline views.
The event is chip-timed and awards prizes to top finishers in multiple age categories, with prizes provided by Mill City Running. Every participant receives branded 5K apparel. Kramarczuk's brats and coffee are available at the finish area. Dogs, strollers, and walkers are welcome, and the event includes both running and walking entries.
Proceeds support civic and social programs run by the St. Anthony West and Sheridan Neighborhood Organizations. Limited lot parking is available at Boom Island, with additional street parking nearby. The event is presented as an annual neighborhood fundraiser and community gathering that combines a riverside route with local food and organized race timing.
