Hilltop U.S.A. 5K - Columbus, OH
Hilltop U.S.A. 5K is a multi-format running event held in Columbus, Ohio, with in-person and virtual options. The in-person events take place at Glenwood United Methodist Church, 2833 Valleyview Dr, and include a standard 5K run/walk and a Heavy Ruck Run division. A virtual 5K can be completed at a participant's chosen location over the July 4 weekend.
The Heavy Ruck Run requires participants to carry their own weighted rucksack for the entire course. Weight requirements are at least 35 lb for male participants and at least 20 lb for female participants. Rucksacks will be weighed and checked before the race.
The on-site 5K follows a lollipop course that uses the paved Camp Chase Trail west, loops at Wilson Road Park, and returns on the trail. The course is described as flat. Awards are offered by age group for the standard 5K and for top finishers in the ruck division.
Registration opens January 31, 2026, and closes March 31, 2026; the registration fee through that closing date is $35. A portion of registration fees benefits the American Legion Don Gentile Post 532 Honor Guard and supports the Columbus Westside Running Club. The event provides a race shirt, a collector's medal commemorating 250 years of American independence, and a post-race ice cream serving. No race day registration is available.
