Event Overview
The Hilltop U.S.A. 5K takes place on July 4, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio. The event offers three participation formats:
- In-Person Standard 5K Run/Walk
- In-Person 5K Heavy 'Ruck Run'
- Virtual 5K, Standard Run/Walk/Ruck
Beneficiaries and Community
A portion of each registration fee benefits the American Legion Don Gentile Post 532 Honor Guard. Event fees also support the Columbus Westside Running Club, a local running community.
Registration and Details
Early registration is $35, which includes a race shirt and a finisher's medal. There is no race day registration. Participants can pick up race packets early on July 3 at the American Legion Post 532 or on race day starting at 7:00 AM at 2833 Valleyview Dr. Parking is available at nearby locations including Luther B Turner Lodge and Valleyview Elementary.
The Heavy 'Ruck Run' Division
This special division requires participants to be 18 or older. Male participants must carry a rucksack weighing at least 35 lbs, while female participants must carry at least 20 lbs. GoRuck Plate Carriers are permitted. All finishers in this division receive a medal, with special awards for the top three male and female finishers.
Awards and Series
An awards ceremony is scheduled after the race. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top male and female finishers in various age categories.
