Hills Creek Endurance Challenge
The Hills Creek Endurance Challenge is a timed trail event held at Hills Creek State Park in Wellsboro, PA, using a roughly 3 mile loop around Hills Creek Lake. The course is mostly single track trail, with just over 200 feet of elevation gain per loop. The start, finish and the event aid station are at the Sugarbush Pavilion.
Participants may register in the following formats:
- 12 hours individual
- 12 hours 4 person relay
- 6 hours individual
- 3 hours individual
Runners complete as many loops as they can within their chosen time limit. Registration opens on November 1, 2026 at 12:00 AM ET. To be guaranteed a race shirt, registration must be completed by Sunday, April 12.
Camping is available within the park for tents, campers, or cabins; nearby lodging is available in Wellsboro and Mansfield. If the Hills Creek campground is full, Ives Run is an alternative roughly 9 miles away.
The event is rain or shine. There are no refunds, deferrals, or bib transfers. A youth discount is available for runners 14 and under as of race day; the discount is 50% off the regular registration fee and does not apply to relay entries. Past donations from the event have supported The Glioblastoma Foundation, Mission 22, Boxes of Hope, Eat Share, and the Lycoming County Youth Livestock Committee.
