Hill Thrill 5k and 10 Mile Road Race
The Hill Thrill Road Race is organized by the Michelle Benedetti Memorial Scholarship Fund and is held in Haverhill, Massachusetts at 137 Monument St. The event offers two distances and provides participant apparel and medals.
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10 Miles Run
Proceeds support four yearly scholarships awarded to students at Haverhill High School. Organizers provide t-shirts and an Ashworth Awards race medallion for all participants. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in multiple age brackets. The event also features raffles and additional race merchandise available for purchase.
Course notes from the organizer describe the 5K route as suitable for seasoned runners, avid walkers, and intermediate participants. The 10 mile route is presented as a tempo run option for those in marathon training or participants seeking a longer distance. An afterparty is held at Maria's Restaurant, 81 Essex St, where prizes are distributed.
In 2025 the event recorded over 400 registrations. The race commemorates Michelle Benedetti, who worked in social services for more than two decades advocating for children in Haverhill and nearby towns; she was an avid runner and died in 2019 from metastatic breast cancer.
