Hill Thrill Road Race
The Hill Thrill Road Race takes place in Haverhill, Massachusetts, starting from Monument Street. This annual event enters its fifth year and serves as a memorial for Michelle Benedetti, a local social services advocate and runner. All proceeds from the event support the Michelle Benedetti Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides four yearly scholarships to students at Haverhill High School.
Participants can choose from two distinct distances:
- 5k Run/Walk
- 10 Mile Run
The 5k route is designed for both runners and walkers. The 10 Mile distance provides a tempo run option for those currently in marathon training. All participants receive a t-shirt and a race medallion from Ashworth Awards. The event utilizes a gun start for timing.
Following the race, an afterparty is held at Maria's Restaurant on Essex Street. During this gathering, organizers distribute prizes to the top three male and female competitors across multiple age brackets. The event also features raffles and merchandise available for purchase. Registration is open to the public, with options for advance sign up or same day registration on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
