Hill of a Race takes place on Saturday August 15, 2026 at Ewing Park II, 1001 Ethel Pkwy, Bloomington, IL 61701. The event combines timed competition and open recreational waves on a course that includes obstacles.
The event program lists several entry options: an Endurance Challenge, competitive divisions for men and women with separate master's (40+) categories, and multiple recreational waves including an overflow wave. Competitive entries are organized into sub-waves. Recreational waves start in sequence with short intervals between waves.
The Endurance Challenge is measured by total laps completed; the participant with the most laps is declared the winner. Endurance participants are allowed to move ahead in obstacle lines while they run through recreational waves. The Endurance Challenge notes an age eligibility range of 14 to 99.
Published entry fees include the Endurance Challenge at $55, competitive entries at $50 with a youth price of $20, and recreational waves at $40–$45. The program also includes a registration period on the morning of the event, an awards presentation for competitive divisions, and a presentation of an Endurance Challenge championship belt.
