Oasis Dash
Oasis Dash takes place at Bob Wentz Park along Lake Travis and uses sandy lakeside paths with waterfront views. The event includes multiple distances, a timed half marathon, a unique shrinking clock race called the Speedyard, a ruck division, and an adaptive athlete program.
Distances
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles
- 5 Mile (8K)
- 5K Run, Walk and Ruck
- The Speedyard up to 17 miles, shrinking clock format
The half marathon follows repeated lakeside laps, uses chip timing with official lap splits and awards a finisher medal. Aid stations provide water and electrolytes on each lap. Age group awards are given in male and female divisions and adaptive athletes receive dedicated awards.
The 5K ruck division requires a rucksack with reflective elements, hydration, trail footwear, and weather-appropriate clothing. Weight requirements list men at 20 lb and women at 10 lb as dry weight; weights are checked at the start and finish and equivalent secured weights are acceptable.
The Speedyard runs on a 1.3 mile loop where rounds consist of two laps and the allowed time window shortens each round. Runners who complete all rounds earn a place on a final lap to determine the Speedyard champion. Chip timing, lap recognition, and aid at the corral are part of the format.
Bob Wentz Park amenities noted include a sandy peninsula called The Point, picnic areas, swimming access, restrooms, and recreation facilities. Adaptive athlete options include an adapted loop, an early start option, extended cutoffs, a free guide registration, and sweeper support when needed.
