Run in the Park - Highland Park 5K
The event is the 16th annual Run in the Park in Highland Park, New Jersey, held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 102 N. 5th Ave. It includes a community 5K event and children’s track races. Proceeds benefit the Highland Park Public Schools PTOs.

The 5K course is closed to traffic for the event. It begins on North 5th Ave by the high school, heads downhill toward New Brunswick for a fast first mile, then follows historic Highland Park streets and finishes on the high school track at the Municipal Recreation Complex. The event welcomes strollers, wheelchairs, and walkers. Kids races take place on the high school track after the 5K.
Registration fees are tiered by date: early, mid, late, and race day pricing are listed for the 5K and for the kids races. USATF members receive a $3 discount except on race day. 5K participants receive a race t-shirt while supplies last and t-shirt size is not guaranteed for all registrants. Early packet pickup is available at the HP Community Center; race morning packet pickup is available in the rear parking lot of Highland Park High School.
