The Highland Park 5K includes two events:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Kids Races
Course
The 5K course is closed to traffic during the race. It starts on North 5th Avenue by the high school, heads downhill towards New Brunswick for the first mile, and winds through historic streets of Highland Park. The finish is on the high school track at the Municipal Recreation Complex. Participants with strollers, wheelchairs, and walkers are welcome.
Purpose
Proceeds from the race benefit the Highland Park Public Schools PTOs.
Registration
Registration for the 5K is $30 before March 18, $35 from March 19 to April 18, and $40 from April 18 to May 3. Race day registration is $45. USATF members receive a $3 discount, except on race day. 5K participants will receive a t-shirt while supplies last, but size is not guaranteed.
Kids Races registration is $12 before April 18, $14 from April 18, and $16 on race day.
Additional Information
Early packet pickup is available at the HP Community Center on Friday from 11 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm. On race day, pickup is from 7:45 am to 8:45 am in the rear parking lot of Highland Park High School.
After the 5K, a Spring Street Fair takes place in downtown Highland Park from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
