Highland Falls Annual 4th of July Firecracker 5K and Children’s Fun Run
The event is a community road running event held in Highland Falls, NY on July 4, 2026, at 310 Main Street. It features a 5K run and walk on a designated local route and a separate children’s fun run. The 5K course is 3.1 miles and is described as a relatively flat, fast course. The start line is at the Dunkin Donuts on Main Street and the finish is at the corner of Mountain Avenue and Main Street. The event proceeds rain or shine.
Packet pickup is available at the gazebo on the corner of Main and Mountain Avenue and is also offered the night before at the same location. Shirts are provided to the first 250 applicants. A registration fee applies for the 5K, and a higher fee applies for race-day registration. Registration is not required for the children’s fun run, which takes place after the last 5K participant crosses the finish line.
Awards are given in male and female divisions for first through third place in all age groups and for overall top male and female. Age group categories include 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and above. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
