Course details
The course starts near Soapstone Pass and is adjacent to the High Uinta Wilderness. Organizers describe the route as mostly downhill and use the term "Drop13" to indicate that it is 99% decline over the 13.1-mile half marathon. The course drops about 2,600 feet with very little uphill or flat sections. Vegetation and features along the route include aspens, pines, and rivers. The start is at one of the higher elevations used for races in Utah; the site noted that snow was present at the starting area on July 4 in a prior year.
