Event Overview
The High Mountain Half Marathon Decade Anniversary 2026 takes place in Lakeside, Arizona. This event marks the tenth anniversary of the race and offers a variety of distances held over two days. The schedule includes a half marathon, a 10K, and two separate 5K options, as well as a dedicated run for children.
Course Details
The 13.1 mile half marathon is a point to point course. Participants are transported by bus from Blue Ridge High School to the start line. The route travels down Porter Mountain, through areas populated with cedar and pine trees, and moves into the town of Pinetop/Lakeside. The race finishes at the Blue Ridge High School track. A time limit of 4 hours is enforced for this distance, requiring a minimum pace of 18:19 per mile to reach checkpoints before the roadway opens to vehicle traffic.
The 5K held on Saturday is an out and back course that begins and ends at the Blue Ridge High School track. On Friday evening, the 5K Glow Run/Walk consists of two large loops around the school grounds. This non-timed event predominantly uses paved paths and the track, with a small segment on a grass field where participants may choose to pass through paint powder stations.
