High Easter 10k

The High Easter 10k is a single-looped road race held in the village of High Easter, Essex. The event takes place on tarmac through quiet country lanes, offering a fast and flat course profile. The race is open to all runners aged 15 and over, with no specific qualification requirements for general entry.

The course is notable for its rural scenery and is known for community support along the route. For competitive participants, the race serves as an Essex County 10k Championship event. Runners wishing to compete in the championships must meet specific eligibility criteria, such as England Athletics affiliation and Essex residency or birth. However, the race is open to all others who wish to participate without entering the championship category.

Facilities at the event include free off-street parking located near the race headquarters at the village hall. The race also provides on-course support with a water station and marshals stationed throughout the route. Participants receive a technical t-shirt upon finishing. Cash prizes of £100 are available for male and female runners who set new course records (currently 30:40 for men and 33:49 for women).

The event supports local charitable causes, including St Mary's Church High Easter, the Monday Muster community exercise class, and the Braintree Food Bank. Local amenities such as a barbecue and cake stall are typically available at the venue.
