High Easter 10k
The High Easter 10k is a single-loop road race held in the village of High Easter, Essex, with start and finish at The Village Hall. The course runs on tarmac country lanes and is described as fast and flat; a road closure is applied at the start. Route maps and GPX files are made available to entrants.
The event forms part of the Essex County 10k Championships. To take part in the county championship element competitors must hold a current England Athletics affiliation with a valid URN, be born in Essex or have been resident in the county for more than nine months, and must not have competed in another county championship this calendar year. It is possible to enter the race without entering the championships.
The race supports three local causes: St Mary’s Church High Easter, the Monday Muster community exercise class, and Braintree Food Bank; donations collected during booking are split between these charities. Organisers provide a technical t-shirt for all finishers and offer a £100 cash prize for the leading male and female runners who beat the course records (men 30:40; women 33:49). On-the-day entry is listed at £30 subject to availability, while earlier online fees are shown between £26 and £28.
Off-street parking is available close to race headquarters. Participant feedback referenced friendly marshals, scenic quiet lanes and catering stalls at the finish, and some reports of the mid-course water station running out of supplies.
