High Desert Relay
The High Desert Relay is a one day, team relay held in Powell Butte and Prineville, Oregon on October 3, 2026. The event routes run through parts of the Cascade Mountains and past landmarks such as Smith Rock, Prineville Reservoir, and the Crooked River. The relay is organized so teams complete a sequence of legs while traveling together in a single support van.
Two course options are listed:
- 67.5 mile run course
- 43.7 mile walk course
Start locations are given separately for the run and the walk. Packet pickup is available on October 1 and October 3 at local pickup locations including Brasada Ranch and the event office in Portland. Leg maps and a full course map are provided for each segment of the relay.
Registration for teams opens in April 2026. Team entry fees published for registration include $900 for a running team of four to six people and $650 for a walking team of four to six people. Teams may register as St. Jude fundraising teams; those teams commit to fundraising $1,500 by race day and receive event benefits such as an apparel item, a dedicated celebration area at the finish, and select finish line amenities.
