High Desert Relay
The Les Schwab Tires High Desert Relay is a one day, one van relay event held in Powell Butte and Prineville, Oregon on October 3, 2026. The course runs through the Cascade Mountains and past Smith Rock, the Prineville Reservoir, and the Crooked River. Course options listed for the event include:
- 67.5 mile run
- 43.7 mile walk
Start line locations are given separately for the running and walking routes: the run start is at Brasada Ranch Road in Powell Butte and the walk start is at Crooked River Park in Prineville. Teams are composed of four to six people. Entry fees are listed as $900 for running teams and $650 for walking teams. One team representative is asked to pick up team bibs and race materials before race day; scheduled packet pickup dates and locations are provided for late September and early October.
The event names St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as its charity of choice. St. Jude fundraising teams agree to raise $1,500 by race day and are listed as eligible for benefits such as a jacket or tech shirt, preferred start times, a dedicated finish area, complimentary beverages at the finish, and a stocked van kit.
