High Desert Relay
The Les Schwab Tires High Desert Relay is scheduled for October 3, 2026, in Powell Butte and Prineville, Oregon. The event is a one day relay featuring running and walking routes that pass through the Cascade Mountains, Smith Rock, the Prineville Reservoir, and along the Crooked River.
The event offers separate run and walk courses with the following distances:
- 67.5 miles run course
- 43.7 miles walk course
Teams consist of four to six people. Registration fees are listed separately for running teams and walking teams, with the running team fee shown as $900 and the walking team fee shown as $650. Start lines are listed for the run at 16976 SW Brasada Ranch Rd, Powell Butte, OR, and for the walk at Crooked River Park, Main St, Prineville, OR.
Packet pickup is scheduled in advance at two locations; one team representative is asked to pick up team bibs and event items before relay day. Key organizational dates include a last day to add teammates to guarantee shirt sizes, a date when start times are posted, and the relay day on October 3, 2026.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is named as a charity partner. Teams that register as St. Jude fundraising teams commit to a fundraising goal of $1,500 and are noted to receive benefit items such as a jacket or tech shirt, preferred start times, a dedicated celebration area at the finish line, complimentary beverages at the finish line, and a stocked van kit.
