Race Distances

The event includes the following distances:

  • 10K Run
  • 5K Run
  • 1 Mile Run
  • Kids Run

Purpose and Beneficiaries

All proceeds from the race are donated to support first responders. The primary beneficiaries are The Broward County Sheriff's Foundation, the Pompano Beach Fire Rescue Benevolent Association, and the Pompano Beach Ocean Rescue Benevolent Association. Additional support goes to Stomping Out the Stigma, which provides free, confidential mental health counseling, and the First Responders Foundation (Florida Chapter), which places emotional support dogs.

Participant Information

The event welcomes runners, walkers, and spectators. Participants include members of the local running community and first responders from police, fire rescue, ocean rescue, and military backgrounds. Special discounted pricing is available for current and retired agency personnel and City of Pompano Beach employees, with ID required at packet pickup.

Awards are given for the 5K and 10K races. Categories include top three overall, top masters, and top three in multiple age groups from 14 and under to 75 and over.

Additional Activities

An "Agency Challenge" is a team competition open to first responders, military, and affiliated agency personnel. Teams of three must each run a different distance (1 Mile, 5K, or 10K), with combined times determining the winner.

Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race at the Pompano Beach Ocean Rescue Headquarters and at a running store in Coral Springs, or on race morning at the registration tent. Pre-race and post-race yoga sessions on the beach are free for all participants, volunteers, and spectators. A post-race gathering is held at the Lucky Fish restaurant.
