Heroes for Hope 5K Run/Walk
The Heroes for Hope 5K is a family-oriented athletic event held at the Mill Village Trailhead on the Augusta Canal. The gathering features various ways to participate, including options for runners, walkers, and wheelchair users. Participants are encouraged to wear superhero costumes throughout the event.
Available distances and categories include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Wheelchair Division
- Kids' Fun Run (open to children aged 10 and under)
- Couch Crusader (non-running participation category)
A costume contest is organized for adults, children, and even pets. In the 5K events, prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, with additional awards for winners across multiple age groups ranging from 15 and under to 70 and above. Every participant in the Kids' Fun Run receives a finisher medal.
Packet pick-up is available the day before the event at Fleet Feet Augusta or on the morning of the races at the Mill Village Trailhead. The event supports Child Enrichment, an organization providing therapy and advocacy for children in the CSRA who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trafficking.
