Hero-Up 5K and Kids' Race and Virtual 5K : Cook Park, Tigard (September 5, 2026)
Hero-Up for Children's Cancer is scheduled for September 5, 2026 at Cook Park in Tigard, Oregon. The event includes in-person races and a virtual option held through September 19, 2026. Net race proceeds are designated for children's cancer research.
Distances offered:
- 5K (3.1 miles) in person
- Virtual 5K (3.1 miles) with online time submission
- Kids Race (400 m) in person; participants receive a medal
Virtual participants will receive a text message and email when the event begins on September 5 with links to submit results. The virtual run must be completed between September 5 and the end of day September 19. Submissions can be made via text message or a web form and may include a Strava or Garmin Connect link; submissions with an activity link will be marked as verified. Virtual results are ranked overall, by gender, and by age group.
Registration notes from the organizer: general registration fees listed for the in-person and virtual 5K are $35, the kids race has no registration fee, and a youth race shirt option is available for $20. Registrations submitted by August 4 are guaranteed a race shirt.
