HERO 5K Run/Walk
The HERO 5K Run/Walk is a 3.1-mile run and walk event. It takes place on Monday, May 25, 2026. This is the 12th year for this event, which is held in conjunction with the Perry Township Flags of Freedom and the Perry Project Group.
Course
The course is a loop along 13th Street in Perry Township. The starting line is on 13th Street by the Perry Township Police Department. The finish line is at Perry High School.
Registration and Pricing
The standard registration price is $35. A special price of $30 is available for participants aged 1 to 17. The price increases after March 31, 2026. Registration on the day of the event costs $45.
Shirts and Medals
Event shirts are available in sizes from Youth Small to Adult 3X-Large. A $5 discount is offered for those who choose not to take a shirt. Shirt selection is limited after May 10. All participants receive a finisher's medal. A $5 discount is available for those who choose not to receive a medal.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup is available only on the day of the event. It takes place at Perry High School between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM.
Awards
Awards are given in several categories. Three awards are given to the overall male and female finishers. Three awards are given to male and female participants in each standard age group. One award is given to a male and female participant in each of the following specialty categories: Military (Active, Veteran, or Retired), Fire/EMT, Law Enforcement, Wheelchair Hand Push, and Wheelchair Hand Crank.
