HERO 5K Run/Walk
The HERO 5K Run/Walk is a looped 3.1 mile run-walk along 13th Street in Perry Township, Massillon, Ohio, held on Monday, May 25, 2026. The event is presented in conjunction with the Perry Township Flags of Freedom and the Perry Project Group and is in its 12th year.
Registration opens January 17, 2026 and closes January 31, 2026. The standard registration fee is $25.00; race day registration is $45.00. Packet pickup is race day only at Perry High School, 3737 13th St SW, Massillon, OH 44646, and is handled on site before the event.
Event apparel is offered in Youth Small to Youth Large and Adult Small to 3X-Large, with a $5 discount for a no shirt option. T-shirt availability is limited after May 10. All participants receive a medal; a no medal option is available for a $5 discount during registration.
The course starts on 13th Street by the Perry Township Police Department and finishes at Perry High School. Awards are not duplicated: three overall male and female finishers, three male and female finishers in each age group (9 & under; 10-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 & over), and one male and female in specialty categories for Military (Active/Veteran/Retired combined), Fire/EMT (Active/Retired combined), Law Enforcement (Active/Retired combined), Wheelchair Hand Push, and Wheelchair Hand Crank.
