Fayetteville App Run Event
The Wings for Life World Run in Fayetteville is a global charity event where participants run simultaneously to support spinal cord research. This event utilizes a unique format where there is no fixed finish line. Instead, participants use a mobile application to track their progress while being pursued by a Virtual Catcher Car. The pursuit begins 30 minutes after the start, with the car steadily increasing its speed until every participant is overtaken.
The course for this event is located at the Lake Fayetteville Trail in Arkansas. The route consists of a loop around Lake Fayetteville, featuring a variety of terrain including lakeside sections, tree-covered paths, and smooth trails. The event is open to both runners and wheelchair participants. The gathering point for the start and the post-run activities is Flyway Brewing, where the community meets to celebrate after their individual distances are completed.
All entry fees and donations collected from the event are allocated directly to spinal cord research projects. Participants are required to download the official mobile app to participate in the race and record their results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
