Event Overview
The Hero Hustle 5K is an 11th annual 5K run and walk event. It is located at 398 S. Shell Rd in DeBary, Florida. Proceeds support the Kruid Charitable Foundation.
Available Events
The event includes several participation options:
- 5K Run/Walk - Chip Timed: A professionally chipped and timed race.
- 5K Youth Registration - Chip Timed: Open to participants aged 1 to 17.
- Kids Fun Run: A 100-meter dash.
- Virtual 5k: A remote participation option.
- Family Pass: Provides access for four people to the event festivities without a 5K entry.
Participant Details
The first 600 registrants are guaranteed a custom race medal, a race bib, and a race T-shirt. All finishers of the 5K receive a custom die-cast medal. Each registered 5K runner receives a race shirt, though sizes are not guaranteed for race-day registrations.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, the top male and female master, and the top three in various age groups.
Schedule and Logistics
Packet pickup is available the day before the event (Friday, May 15) from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the DBK Home Office at 398 S Shell Rd. It is also available on race day. Race-day registration opens at 6:30 AM.
On the day of the event, the schedule includes the 5K run/walk, a Kids Fun Run at 8:20 AM, an awards ceremony at 8:45 AM, and a post-race party starting at 9:00 AM.
The after-party features a family fun area with water slides, a bounce house, games, a DJ, adult beverages, and snacks for kids. Parking is available in the industrial area behind DBK, off Springview Commerce Drive.
