Hero Hustle 5K
The Hero Hustle 5K takes place in DeBary, Florida at 398 S. Shell Rd on May 16, 2026. The event is the eleventh annual edition and has raised over $100,000 for the Kruid Charitable Foundation across the past ten years, with more than 2,500 participants historically.
Event formats include:
- 5K Run/Walk chip timed
- 5K Youth Registration chip timed, ages 1 to 17
- Kids Fun Run 100 meters, free
- Virtual 5K
The first 600 registered participants are guaranteed a custom race medal, bib, and race t-shirt. All finishers of the 5K receive a custom diecast finisher medal. Race timing uses professional chip timing and a finish line clock. Awards are presented to the overall top three male and female finishers, the top male and female masters, and the top three finishers in each male and female age group, with age groups ranging from 9 and under through 80 and over.
A packet pick-up is available at the DBK office on the day before the race and on race day. A post-race party and family area include water slides, a bounce house, games, a DJ, a complimentary adult beverage, and snacks for children. Parking is directed to the industrial area behind DBK off Springview Commerce Drive. Entries are non-refundable and transfers are not permitted. The event is held rain or shine.
