Hero Hustle 5K
The eleventh annual Hero Hustle 5K, formerly known as the DBK 5K, takes place in the neighborhoods of DeBary, Florida. This event serves as a fundraiser for the Kruid Charitable Foundation and includes various participation options for runners and walkers of different ages. The main course is a chip timed route through local residential areas.
The following distances are available:
- 3.1 miles (5K Run/Walk)
- 100 meters (Kids Fun Run)
The event is professionally timed using chip technology. Awards are presented to the overall top three male and female finishers, the top male and female masters, and the top three finishers in several age categories ranging from 9 and under to 80 and over.
The first 600 registered participants are provided with a custom race medal, a race bib, and a t-shirt. Participants who register after this limit will receive a standard medal. All finishers of the 3.1 miles race receive a medal, and children participating in the 100 meters event also receive a finisher medal.
An after-party is held at the event location, featuring water slides, a bounce house, games, and a DJ. Refreshments including snacks and adult beverages are provided to participants. Packet pick-up is scheduled for the day before the race at the DBK home office, with additional pick-up available on the morning of the event.
