Hero Half Marathon - Fayetteville
The Hero Half Marathon is a fundraising race and community event in Fayetteville, Arkansas, hosted by The Spark Foundation in partnership with Fayetteville Firefighters’ IAFF Local 2866. The Spark Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports schools and community health and fitness. Race proceeds support organizations that address community needs and increase local fitness opportunities.
Event options include multiple in-person and virtual distances and formats:
- Half Marathon
- Quarter Marathon (10k with some bonus running)
- Run for Your Hero 5k
- Spark One Mile
- Half Marathon 2-Person Relay
- Virtual Half Marathon and Virtual Quarter Marathon
- Half Marathon plus 15-week training program
- Half Marathon Firefighter Challenge for active duty firefighters running in full bunker gear
The event awards age group prizes to the top three male and female finishers in each age division for both the half marathon and the quarter marathon. The Firefighter Challenge requires participants committing to run the full 13.1 miles in full bunker gear. The event is organized by the Hero Half Marathon team with support from The Spark Foundation and Fayetteville Firefighters’ IAFF Local 2866.
