H.E.R.O. Freedom Run
H.E.R.O. Freedom Run takes place on June 19, 2026, at Freedom River, 6716 Winans Lake Rd., Brighton, MI 48116 in Hamburg Township. The event includes two distances:
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- 5K Run/Walk
The course is a cross-country style route that includes trails, fields, and slight hills. The races are chip timed and will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Live results will be posted during the event.
Registration fees are listed as $25 for the 1 mile and $30 for the 5K. Registration includes a commemorative race T-shirt while supplies last, a pack of three amusement ride VIP passes for the Hamburg Family Fun Fest, free parking for the race, and goody bags. Packet pickup is available at the registration table on race day starting at 5:00 pm.
Awards include medals for all finishers and trophies for first-place finishers and overall male and female. Age divisions are defined separately for each event: the 1 Mile Fun Run (6 & under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-14) and the 5K Run/Walk (10 & under, 11-17, 18 & over) with male and female categories.
Freedom River, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Funds raised will support construction of a year round wellness center on the Freedom River property. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
