Herdy's Frontyard Ultra
Herdy’s Frontyard Ultra, the world’s biggest Backyard Ultra, takes place at Herdsman Lake in Western Australia, near Perth. Runners tackle a 6.71-kilometre loop on the hour, every hour, continuing until only one remains. The course circles the lake, described as a lake-side loop that becomes a festival-like arena as participants push through fatigue.
The event emphasizes a race against yourself over competition with others, buoyed by a buzzing Ultra Series atmosphere and a strong volunteer network. It’s promoted as a mind, body and soul endurance test; 24 hours of 6.71km equals 100 miles. Organised under Ultra Series Australia, it benefits from ongoing community support and volunteer participation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
