Herdy's Frontyard Ultra

Herdy's Frontyard Ultra is a Backyard Ultra staged at Herdsman Lake, Herdsman, Western Australia on Friday March 12, 2027. Organizers describe it as the world’s biggest Backyard Ultra. The format uses a fixed loop of 6.71 km that must be completed every hour, on the hour, and runners continue until only one participant remains.

Runners who fail to complete a loop within the hour or who choose not to continue are recorded as DNF. The event notes that 24 hours of the loop equals 100 miles, illustrating the cumulative distance possible for those who continue through multiple loops. The race is presented alongside a festival-style environment and a volunteer program that supports event operations.

Information referenced by the event includes an entry process, race manual, aid station details, and mandatory gear requirements. Volunteers receive a 20% discount toward a future Ultra Series event as a recorded benefit for helping. The event is part of the Ultra Series Australia calendar and is connected to other Backyard Ultra events that use the same 6.71 km loop format. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
